The manufacturer-recommended dose is 2.5 to 5 milligrams (mg) ORALLY once daily for pediatric patients ages 6 to 17 years. Doses above 5 mg/day have not been studied in pediatric patients [2]. Amlodipine has not been approved for children under 6 years of age.a) An alternative dosage for pediatric patients specified an INITIAL dose of 0.1 milligram/kilogram (mg/kg) per DOSE, once or twice daily. Usual doses of 0.1 to 0.3 mg/kg per DOSE, once or twice daily, were suggested.
